Money $aving Tips: Upcycle Your Closet Rod Brackets

Have you ever wondered what to do with those long bulky extension cords or maybe those hula hoops that just kind of roll around getting in the way or bent out of shape making them into a square instead of a circle?

I have the perfect solution that I actually came by on accident but really works and works well.

I had a shelf held up with closet rod brackets in the garage where I used to hang up coats in the winter. I came up with an alternative solution for my coats, so I proceeded to take down the shelf that I no longer wanted there. All was well until I couldn’t get one of the brackets down due to stripped screws from putting it up. So I left it… until I could figure out what to do with it.

But everything in my home is going to be used for something or other so… guess where my extension cords and hula hoops now hang?

That’s right! They fit so perfectly up there and I no longer have to worry about how to get the bracket down or where to put hula hoops, extension cords, hoses, jump ropes, or you may have decorative strands of lights, or other seasonal decorations that can hang there to be stored.

Here are some pictures that I took of it… but the lighting was horrible. Maybe you can still get the idea though.
