Disorganization: A Big Stumbling Block for Not Exercising

Stumbling Blocks for not Exercising are caused a great deal from Disorganization.

Looking in the mirror, all you see is bloodshot eyes looking deep into your eyes.

The hair that is on this person is so out of place that you can obviously tell that it hasn’t had attention for at least a few days and where on earth did those clothes come from?

They are so baggy and mismatched. You can tell that careful consideration was not paid when picking out what to wear.

Could this possibly be you?

The way you look on the outside is exactly how you feel on the inside; exhausted, unhealthy, and really stressed out from living in a home of chaos and clutter for too long.

So why don’t you get dressed (in some real clothes), go outside, and get some fresh air for a change?

Take a walk. It’ll be good for you.

Are you motivated to take a walk and really get out for some fresh air?

What happened? It’s been two hours of you trying to get ready for a 5-10 minute walk?

What’s the hold up?

Don’t you want to do something good for your body?

Oh, I see, you can’t find your shoes.

So now here you are again sitting on the floor with piles of shoes and clothes surrounding you. Helpless once again and not able to go for a walk or even more importantly you are unable to successfully be the person you want to be. The person that has to hide day after day behind the walls of your home, feeling trapped.

So now what?

Do you give up once again on wanting what’s best for you and your family or do you start today by changing that one step at a time?

Let’s do this! If a big part of you wants to get healthier and exercise because you know it will make you feel better and give you more energy, then let’s go for it.

How can we make getting ready for exercise not be discouraging and not take all of your energy so that you have none for actual physical exercise?

Well, my suggestion to you is…

1.) Grab a bag or box of some sort to put all of your exercise clothes, shoes, and equipment in.

2.) Keep it in a spot that you can get to it easily and no one else will bother it.

3.) Put all of your things back in it when you are finished so that it is ready the next time you need it.

This should help eliminate wasted time, energy, and discouragement.

When it comes right down to it Dr. Pamela Peeks says it the best.

“If you can’t find your sneakers, you aren’t taking a walk.”
~ Dr. Pamela Peeks

This is one of the biggest stumbling blocks for not exercising.
