3 Easy Steps to Start Decluttering Your Home Today

In my experience in decluttering my own home the “what” has always been easier than the “how.”

In one way or another I always knew “what” needed to be decluttered. Whether it was by the kid’s toys overflowing in the hallways, stacks of mail taking up any given counter, or not being able to find what I needed or wanted right away.

Even after I found the “what”, I was still stuck, held up by the“how”. “How” was I suppose to fix it?

I am going to share with you “how” I accomplish decluttering in my home each and everyday.

It’s not going to be impossible for you to do nor is it going to take a lot of time or money. Neither of which do I have a lot of and if you have kids like I do then you probably don’t either. So here it comes, sit back and relax as I explain how to “declutter on purpose.”

All it takes is just three easy steps and about ten to fifteen minutes a day. Yeah I know, you’re probably thinking to yourself that you have heard this before, but don’t stop here, finish reading and give it a try for yourself because today you’re going to declutter on purpose.

Not by chance, not by luck, and definitely not because it was done for you. Trust me it’s going to be a little difficult in the beginning but nothing that a strong, willing person like you can’t handle. Read More…

Upcycle: A New Use For Your Sled in the Summer!

I don’t know about where you live but here where I live it is definitely pool time for the kiddos.

I have five children ranging from 6 months to eight years old and finding a pool that was age appropriate was a hard task to accomplish without buying two or three different pools.

So a friend of ours let the kids use their pool which was about two feet deep and great for all of the kids except my littlest one.

I knew that he would enjoy the water because he likes bath time so I grabbed out our winter sled, put it on a vinyl tablecloth, and put just a couple inches of water in it.

How to Have a More Focused Day

Being a stay at home mom usually requires a lot of attention on lots of different things throughout your day.

You have breakfast, lunch, dinner, laundry, practices, schooling, playtime, cuts and scrapes to mend, fights to break up, toys to share… my goodness if I don’t stop now I won’t get to the rest of the blog post. But my point is your day can become very overwhelming if you don’t know how to have a main focus to start out with for that day and how to keep focused throughout that day.
So I am just going to share with you some tips on how to stay focused on your day, that I use in my home.

  • Put things away right when you get home.

  • Pick out one thing, while your still in bed, that you want to get done for that day. (Only one! Make it something that will motivate you to get out of bed each day.)

  • Use a dry erase board and make a list of things that have to get done for that day, then right beside that put down what you would like to get done but aren’t crucial.

  • Do the dishes before you go to bed.

There are a lot of times in life we get so busy and caught up with taking care of our families and everything that is involved with them that it is very easy to lose our focus along the way.

Be honest!  I have to confess this has happened to me. It’s really one of those moments that I just throw my head back and laugh, or instead I could scream and cry but that’s just not as fun.
